34 Years of Experience. One Commitment: Service.

As the Director of the OSU Center for Local Gov’t Technology at Stillwater, OK, I am honored to be a candidate for the IAAO Board of Directors, Region 1.
For 34 years, the principles of fairness, equity, and uniformity have guided my career in property assessment. I began in Noble County, Oklahoma, serving eight years, including as County Assessor, before joining Oklahoma State University. Over the past 26 years, I have dedicated my career to education, training, and strengthening the assessment profession by providing approximately 275,000 hours of training to assessors and deputies across Oklahoma.
Leadership requires more than experience—it requires sound judgment, accountability, and a commitment to serving others. Throughout my career, I have worked to ensure decisions are thoughtful, balanced, and beneficial to the profession. Those same values will guide me as a member of the Board of Directors.
Since becoming an IAAO member in 2001, I have completed 18 courses and workshops, earned the RES designation in 2011, and received the FIAAO designation in 2025. I have proudly served on eight committees and task forces, including as Chair of the Conference Content Committee, and I currently serve on the Education Committee.
IAAO is instrumental in my professional journey. I am ready to give back through experienced, steady, and dedicated leadership.
I respectfully ask for your consideration, your support, and your vote for Region 1.
Respectfully,
Gary Snyder, RES, FIAAO
Candidate for IAAO Board of Directors, Region 1
